A native of Pierce County, Jared is deeply familiar with the local legal landscape. His career began at the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, where he interned while attending Seattle University School of Law and subsequently accepted a position as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney upon graduation.
Over a nearly 20-year career at the Prosecutor’s Office, serving under three elected Prosecutors, Jared quickly distinguished himself. His exceptional trial skills and critical strategic abilities led to a rapid and meteoric rise through the ranks, achieving the highest attorney classification faster than any of his peers in an office of over 100 attorneys.
In recognition of his work ethic and courtroom prowess, Jared was promoted to Team Chief of the Special Assault Unit. In this high-impact role, he collaborated closely with law enforcement agencies, developing county-wide protocols for the investigation and prosecution of sex offenses and serious assaults. He also played a key role in training nurses, caseworkers, and police, establishing an unmatched expertise in this sensitive area of law.
Jared later served a four-year term as Homicide Division Chief, overseeing every homicide and death investigation brought to the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office. He worked directly with state and federal law enforcement to guide investigation strategy and processes, giving him unparalleled experience in complex death penalty and murder cases.
His career culminated in his promotion to Chief Criminal Deputy, where he supervised and managed the entire Criminal Division of the Prosecutor’s Office. This unique history means Jared possesses a deep, firsthand understanding of the specific practices, policies, and procedural vulnerabilities of the opposing counsel. No other defense attorney can match his insider experience from leading the very division responsible for criminal prosecution in Pierce County.
