(Tacoma, WA June 14, 2022) — Puget Law Group, a Tacoma-based Criminal Defense and Personal Injury firm, has announced a merger with Kirkland based Kattenhorn Law. In addition, Kattenhorn Law Principal Christopher Kattenhorn has been named Partner with Puget Law Group. Pursuant to the merger, Kattenhorn will manage PLG’s DUI practice and office in Seattle.
The merger of the firms and appointment of Kattenhorn as Partner are the result of months of discussions and planning between PLG and Kattenhorn. Kattenhorn practiced for several years as a municipal public defender before joining Cowan Kirk Gaston, a renowned DUI Defense firm in Kirkland. He was named Partner with the firm (now Cowan Kirk Kattenhorn, or CKK) in 2014, where he remained until merging with PLG.
“Chris is a tremendously well-respected DUI lawyer in Seattle/Eastside,” said PLG Managing Partner Casey Arbenz. “Chris has been mentored by some of the top minds in the DUI defense world, including Doug Cowan and Bill Kirk. We are thrilled to have him joining our team.”
“My time at CKK helped shape me into the attorney I am today and has given me the confidence to lead PLG’s entrance into the Seattle market,” explained Attorney Kattenhorn. “This is an opportunity to combine the boutique, client-care oriented approach to law I developed a reputation for at CKK and combine it with the resources and backing PLG offers. I am excited to be part of this team and the future of DUI law in the Seattle area.”
Puget Law Group was founded in 2013 by former prosecutor Dan Gerl. In nine years PLG has grown from a solo practice to over 20 employees, including eleven attorneys, and six locations throughout the Puget Sound region. In 2022, PLG will be listed among the Inc. 5000 “Fastest Growing Private Companies in the U.S.,” the Puget Sound Business Journal’s “100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Washington State” for the third year in a row. According to Law Firm 500, PLG is currently the fastest growing DUI and Criminal Defense Firm in America.
