Washington Medical Malpractice Lawyers Here To Help You
The vast majority of doctors are hard-working and dedicated to their patients. However, some are substandard and decline to pursue excellence in their chosen field. Some have personality issues the limit their ability to truly listen to their patients. Others have erratic or tumultuous personal lives. A few are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Our medical malpractice attorney Casey Arbenz has great respect for the doctors who do their jobs competently. However, he recognizes that the medical industry is like any other “for profit” corporation, and as a Washington Personal Injury Lawyer he has witnessed too many instances where his clients have had their lives severely impacted – or even destroyed – by doctors who cut corners to save money, who are incompetent, or whose personal demons affect their ability to safely perform their job.
Similarly, while in many ways our US medical system is one of the best in the world, anybody who has had a medical issue or needed a procedure can tell you that in many ways our medical system is bureaucratic and disorganized. Many patients feel that they are not listened to, that they are required to take tests they don’t need, that they aren’t given the tests they do need, and that the medical clinics they are required to work through do not act efficiently enough to provide the necessary services in a timely and professional manner.
There are three ways to prove a medical malpractice case. They are outlined in RCW 7.70. The first is to show, by way of an expert witness, that the doctor who caused the injury acted in a manner that fell below a “reasonable standard of care.” The second way is to show that the doctor promised the patient that the injury complained of would not occur. Third, where the patient did not give his or her “informed consent” to the procedure and/or the side-effects associated with the action, a case may be brought. RCW 7.70.030.
Medical malpractice cases are not limited to doctors or hospitals. If you feel that any medical professional, including but not limited to a doctor, nurse, surgeon, psychiatrist, dentist, radiologist, chiropractor, podiatrist or hospital caused your injury, do not hesitate to call Puget Law Group to schedule a complimentary strategy session with Casey Arbenz, our lead personal injury attorney. Casey has experience handling medical malpractice cases where people have suffered injustice at the hands of those who should care for them, but fall short of that reasonable standard of care. Casey and our team at PLG will take your case personally and aggressively represent your interests.
